Take the $5 Challenge!

On September 17, help take back the ‘value meal’ by getting together with family, friends, and neighbors for a slow food meal that costs less than $5 per person. Cook together, have a potluck or sign up for a local event.

Why? Because slow food shouldn’t have to cost more than fast food. Know how to cook? You can teach others. Want to learn? This is your chance. Together, we’re sharing what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change in order to make good food affordable and available for everyone.

For more information, or to sign up, please visit SlowFoodUSA.org/5Challenge. You can also share your experiences online and connect with others taking the challenge on Twitter (@SlowFoodUSA) and at Facebook.com/SlowFoodUSA.

***What’s slow food? 1. The opposite of fast food. 2. Food that’s good for you, good for farmers and workers, and good for the planet. Find out more at SlowFoodUSA.org.****

  1. Mmm… not only will the food be better and healthier for the body I think the fact that you get to do this activity with friends and family in a family oriented atmosphere will make for good soul food as well! Huzzah! =)
